The Company

Formed by the merger in 2000 of two well-established local agencies, Lovsted-Worthington LLC ranks among the largest insurance agencies in Washington State, with access to most major insurance carriers. Similar backgrounds helped the agency maintain a consistent philosophy of putting the customer's interests first, and making the insurance transaction as painless and pleasant as possible.

In 1977, Carl Lovsted, left his position with a leading national insurance broker to form Lovsted Company in Seattle, WA, based on the premise that insurance customers wanted a little more than to have their account "handled" by a large agency that, while capable, treated them more like a number than a person. He founded Lovsted Company with the idea that the company would relate more closely with it's customers and really make an effort to understand all aspects of their business so as to better transact the insurance purchase.

Similarly, in 1986, E.R. "Rusty" Young, left his position with another large insurance broker and purchased Worthington Insurance, in Bothell, Washington. Worthington Insurance had been in business since the 1920's and was founded by the Worthington family to support the interests of the family owned bank. Rusty's philosophy on treating the customer mirrored Lovsted Company's, and both companies thrived and grew through the 1990's.

In 2000, Carl Lovsted III, and Dean Young, the sons of Carl and Rusty and now owners of the agencies, decided that the similarities of the agencies created an opportunity to take the philosophy of customer service to a larger scale, so both agencies could benefit from each other's expertise. Their combined volume would enable the agencies to access nearly the entire insurance marketplace, and each agency's customers would benefit. A new company was born called Lovsted-Worthington.

Today, Lovsted-Worthington continues in the traditions established by Carl and Rusty. We make it our first priority to help our customers achieve their personal or business insurance objectives.
